RIYADH : Responding to the initiative launched by the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Riyadh, Sri Lanka Chefs Club in Saudi Arabia donated SAR 10,000 to support the Ditwah disaster relief efforts in Sri Lanka.
Representatives of the Sri Lanka Chefs Club met with the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Ameer Ajwad, at the Embassy premises in Riyadh on 21 December , and handed over their contribution.
Expressing his sincere appreciation, Ambassador Ameer Ajwad commended the collective effort by the Sri Lanka Chefs Club reflecting the sense of social responsibility and solidarity with the victims of this natural calamity. The Ambassador also conveyed his gratitude to each and every member of the Club who contributed for this worthy cause during the need of the hour in the country.
First Secretary of the Embassy, Vindana Munasinghe, was also present during the handing-over.
