COLOMBO: A soldier attached to the Panagoda Army Camp was killed after he shot himself with his service firearm.
The deceased was identified as a 28-year old, a resident of Naula, Matale.
This soldier shot himself with his firearm in front of the 12th unit of the artillery regiment of the Panagoda army camp this evening.The army said the reason of the shooting is yet unknown.
He died after being admitted to the Panagoda Army Hospital.
The Homagama Police are conducting investigations into the incident.
