AUSTRALIA — The Sri Lankan Muslim Community of Victoria (SMCV) hosted one of its most successful events to date, with more than 500 attendees joining the SMCV Cultural Night 2025 in Truganina on Saturday November 22.
This remarkable participation marks the highest turnout in the organisation’s history.
The evening was filled with vibrant cultural performances, traditional Sri Lankan food, children’s activities, community games, and engaging entertainment. Families and youth came together to celebrate heritage, unity, and the rich traditions of the Sri Lankan Muslim community.
A special highlight of the night was the outstanding performances by children and young people, showcasing confidence, talent, and cultural pride. Many parents and guests praised the event for strengthening identity and bringing generations together.
The success of the program was made possible through the tireless efforts of SMCV’s volunteers — from food preparation and logistics to stage management, registrations, and children’s activities. Their dedication ensured a smooth, enjoyable, and memorable evening for all.
The event also welcomed guests from the wider Victorian community, strengthening connections with multicultural groups and local organisations.
With the overwhelming success of this year’s Cultural Night, SMCV looks forward to expanding youth programs, ladies’ activities, cultural events, and community support initiatives in 2026.
The Cultural Night 2025 will be remembered as a beautiful celebration of unity, culture, and togetherness — a true reflection of SMCV’s spirit.
