
COLOMBO : The Sri Lanka–Nordic Business Council (SLNORBC) of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce held its 24th Annual General Meeting on 22nd September 2024 at Ramada Colombo. The event was graced by Chief Guest Mr. Leif Ivan Ohlson, together with Guest of Honours Mr. Sanjay Kulatunga and Mr. Mano Sekaran.
Shaameel Mohideen of Spillburg Group of Companies was re-elected as President. The newly elected office bearers also include Ms. Maleena Awn of Meridian Maritime Services (Pvt) Ltd as Senior Vice President, Mr. Priyantha Subasinghe of Kalaro (Pvt) Ltd as Vice President, and Mr. Chrishan De Mel of 99X Technology as Treasurer.
The committee members for the year are Euroaqua Link (Pvt) Ltd, Mac Holdings (Pvt) Ltd, National Technology Development Corporation Society, Ningbo Marketing Company (Pvt) Ltd, and Walkers Tours Ltd. Jehan Perinpanayagam, Chief Executive Officer of Infomate (Pvt) Ltd, will serve as the Immediate Past President.
In addition, two long-serving members, Mrs. Bobby Jordan Hansen and Prasath Mahalingam, were conferred Honorary Membership in recognition of their contributions to the council.
Highlighting the vision for the year ahead, newly re-elected President Mr. Shaameel Mohideen stated: “The Sri Lanka Nordic Business Council has always been a vital bridge in strengthening the ties between our nations. As we look ahead, we must continue to innovate and adapt to the changing global landscape, focusing on promoting trade and investment opportunities, supporting innovation and technology, advocating sustainable development, and enabling enterprises to navigate international markets. Together, we can achieve greater heights by forging new pathways to shared prosperity.”
The Council also announced plans to sign an MoU between the SLNORBC and the Sweden–Sri Lanka Business Council, further deepening bilateral collaboration in the coming year.
