MOHAMMED RASOOLDEEN
COLOMBO : The mother of Fawzan Fareid, SriLankan Airlines Regional Manager for India Bangladesh and Nepal, Zakiya Siddeeque Fareid passed away in Colombo on Thursday morning on July 24.
She was the beloved daughter of Marhoom I. L. M. Siddeeque ( Delgahagoda) and Marhooma Saliha Umma ( Uyanwatte) Wife of Marhoom Fareed teacher , (Kirungadeniya)
Mother of Fawzan and Zeran , Sister of Hilru Mohamed, Izzath umma , Mohamed Alavi, Mohamed Ali. Marhoom Mohamed Rahumathullah, Mohamed Hudaiba , Ummu Tharika, Marhoom Huda , Mohamed Ilyas Mohamed Masnavi
She had taught at the Muslim ladies College , DS senanayake College Borella, Zahira College,Colombo and some other schools.
She had completed her Masters in Peradeniya University .
She was also the author of several books. She was the Vice president of the Colombo-based Young Women’s Muslim Association, YWMA, where she had contributed a lot towards its educational development projects . She was also a journalist who had worked for Tamil dailies.
Her Janaza will take place at Dehiwela Muslim Burial Grounds on Thursday after Asar prayers.
