Saudi Hajj Ministry Launches Country-Tailored Awareness Guides for Pilgrims

COLOMBO — The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, in partnership with the General Authority for Awqaf, launched country-tailored awareness guides aimed at providing culturally and linguistically tailored content for pilgrims from different nations. The initiative aims at enhancing pilgrims’ informational, behavioral, and organizational experience from the preparation stage through to their departure home.
The guides, introduced during the Hajj Conference and Exhibition 1447 AH held under the theme “From Makkah to the World,” are part of diverse initiatives by the ministry’s Pilgrims Awareness Center, with support from the Awqaf authority. The content is designed to address the needs of each nationality, highlighting pilgrims’ cultures and awareness requirements, and is presented in multiple languages to ensure clarity and accessibility.
The library of guides includes 22 main kits for countries with high pilgrim numbers, along with shorter guides for other nations. They feature visual and interactive content to enhance usability, along with QR codes enabling digital access to awareness materials.
The guides will be distributed through the ministry’s website, Hajj pilgrim affairs offices, service companies, and diplomatic channels to ensure access in pilgrims’ native languages both before arrival and during Hajj rituals.
The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts by the ministry and the Awqaf authority to enhance integrated services for pilgrims and support the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 by improving the quality of services offered to Hajj pilgrims and Umrah performers.
