Rugby legend David Campese to attend community sports events in Colombo

COLOMBO ; FORMER Australian rugby legend and 1991World Cup-winning team member David Campese is in Colombo to attend community rugby events arranged by Zahira College for their Centenary Rugby Sevens programs, which will kick off on 31 January.

David Campese, also known as “Campo”, is a former Australian rugby union player (1982-1996), who was capped by the Wallabies 101 times and played 85 Tests at wing and 16 at fullback.

Campese will conduct a Coach the Coaches pro-gram, organised by the Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association (SLSRFA) which will take place on 31 January from 8 a.m. onwards.

SLSRFA has invited coaches from all the schools set to take part in the schools’ rugby season, with the hope of inculcating valuable knowledge in the coaches who are set to take charge of their respective schools.

Campese will be having a college tour to Zahira College, as well assisting their first  XV team as well
