Rotary honours Dr.Rohantha Athukorala for his outstanding services

 COLOMBO: Esteemed business professional and decorated Rotarian, MPHF. Rtn. Dr. Rohantha Athukorala was awarded an honorary recognition for leading the internationally acclaimed “ Stop the Spread ” campaign and for the exemplary leadership showcased throughout the Year in the Rotary International District 3220, Sri Lanka and Maldives.

Dr.Ahtukorala was honoured at the  Annual Rotary Awards Night 2021 held recently at the Grandeeza Luxury Hotel in Negombo.

Rotary is an international service organization whose stated purpose is to bring together business and professional leaders in order to provide humanitarian services and advance goodwill and peace around the world. It is the only service based organisation which has a non-voting seat at the United Nations (UN) General Assembly. The movement withholds a global membership of 1.2 million Rotarians across the world

Rotary District Governor 2020/21, Rtn. Ajith Weerasinghe said “ We acknowledge the great leadership that Project Director of ‘ Stop the Spread ’ Dr. Rohantha Athukorala provided, and acknowledge the excellent contribution he had made to Rotary through the ‘Stop the Spread’ Campaign.

Dr. Rohantha was the global winner of the Rotary International ‘ People of Action’ Award, making him the first Sri Lankan to win this award in the 91-year history of Rotary in Sri Lanka which  awarded to him  in the year 2020/21 where he  conceptualized the project  ‘ Stop the Project ’ that cut across age groups and social entities and was powered by the top 184 sportsmen as brand ambassadors under the theme ‘ Learning to live with COVID’.

Deshamanya Dr Rohantha Athukorala is also a multiple Paul Harris fellow of Rotary International and Alumni of Harvard University. He is the President / CEO of Clootrack- Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Maldives and Canada which is a foremost Artificial Intelligence (AI ) company operating in 55 countries around the world servicing the top Fortune 500 companies.
