COLOMBO : Former parliamentarian and retired Superintndent of Police , Meerasahib Abdul Majeed passed away in Colombo on Tuesday, June 30 in Colombo .
Majeed was a popular ruggerite played for Colombo Zahira College and joined the police service , Subsequently , he became a member of the parliament repressing his hometown Pottuvil .. He also worked as first secretary at the Sri Lanka high commission in India
His children ,daughter -Jahana and son in law Dr Naushad Khan , sons Dr Jamshed Australia and Jahan -Australia .
The remains will be moved to Pottuivil from his residence at 201, highlevel road, Kirilapona in Colombo 5, after 6 pm on Tuesday for burial in Pottuvil same day .
