COLOMBO : The inaugural distribution of Dry Ration Packs for the upcoming Holy Month Ramadan under Zakat distribution for Poverty Alleviation was held on Sunday with the generous donation from the Canada Sri Lanka Muslim Women’s Alliance for the Poverty.
The project was implemented by the Young Women’s Muslim Association,YWMA, of Sri Lanka under the leadership of Fawaza Thaha. The president of the YWMA, said that the beneficiaries were deserving Muslims from all parts of the Island.
Former president of the All-Ceylon YMMA Conference, Khalid Farook and Shabir Sawad, attorney at law,were also present during the event held at the YMMA headquarters on Sunday.
