Ramadan Festival in Sri Lanka will be on Wednesday , April 10

COLOMBO : Sri Lanka has declared Wednesday, April 10 as the first day of Ramadan Festival , after the crescent Moon was spotted on Tuesday evening.

The Colombo Grand Mosque in association with the department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs announced that the holy month of Ramadan would, therefore, last 29 days this year.
Earlier, the Grand Mosque had asked faithful across the country to sight the crescent moon on the 29th of Ramadan which corresponds with Tuesday April 9 on the Gregorian calendar.
