COLOMBO- The Grand Mosque in Colombo announced here on Monday evening that the first day of fasting will be on Wednesday,April 14.
A group of Islamic Theologians and officials from the Department of Islamic Affairs and All Ceylon Jamiyyahtul Ulama met at the Grand Mosque with its officials to decide the beginning of the holy month.
According to sources, the crescent was not sighted on Monday and the board of Ulamas decided to commence the fasting from midnight ( Suhoor) on Tuesday . Photos by A.S,M Javid
