COLOMBO : Former Fisheries Minister Rajitha Senaratne, has filed a motion at the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court, moving court to temporarily suspend the warrant issued against him.
The request was made through a motion filed before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court.
The warrant was issued in connection with a case where the former minister is accused of causing a loss of over Rs. 200 million to the government by awarding a sand mining project at the Kirinda Fisheries Harbour to a Korean company.
The motion was considered before Colombo Chief Magistrate Thanuja Lakmali Jayatunga.
After reviewing the submissions, the Chief Magistrate issued no order regarding the request.
However, the Magistrate informed counsels that the application could be re-submitted on a date when the complainant party is also present in court News First
