COLOMBO:President Ranil Wickremesinghe has recommended to the Constitutional Council a name of Professor from the Peradeniya University’s Faculty of Engineering for the position of Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL), according to reports.
Reports further state that this will be taken up in the Constitutional Council meeting slated to be held Tuesday,June 20 under the leadership of Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena.
The position of Chairman of PUCSL fell vacant following a resolution passed in parliament on May 24 to remove the former Chairman Janaka Ratnayake.
