COLOMBO : The untimely death of Shabry Faizal,45, Proprietor of Leads Manpower came as a great shock on Thursday evening, June 03.
Shabry died of Covid complications in Colombo. His contributions to people of all walks of life were immeasurable and cannot be put into words.
His demise is an irreparable loss to the poor, especially to those who are residents of Maligawatte, who always remember him for his charitable mind.
Starting from his grandfather Marhoom Mohamed Khalid, a well-known philanthropist of his era to Shabry Faizal, thousands of people have benefited from their generosity. His family is well-known in Maligawatte for its magnanimity in helping the poor.
Shabry was determined to end poverty—something he was most interested in eradicating this social problem. While his primary aim was to serve the people of Maligawatte, he also used a portion of his allocated funds for those who sought his assistance from elsewhere.
He was the first person to raise funds to families that were affected by natural calamities, including Covid-19. His most recent significant contribution was the give-away of between Rs. 20,000 to 30,000 to underprivileged families depending on their source of income.
In addition, he used to settle electricity bills of most of the mosques, host the worshippers at breakfast during holy month of Ramadan and never failed to give away large sums of monies to the workers of these mosques, while he shunned publicity for his social activities.
Most of the time, the beneficiaries wouldn’t know who Shabry was. His untimely death would leave an irreplaceable vacuum in the Muslim community.
Shabry is survived by his wife Hishama, children Sheikha and Sara, parents Faizal and Fawziya, brothers Farhath and Zamrouth and grandparents Marhoom Mohamed Khalid and Marhooma Sithy Muhsina. May Allah accept his soul and grant him eternal rest in Jannathul Firdous!
