COLOMBO – Public Security Minister Ananda Wijepala says that further extensive investigations are underway regarding the death of former Inspector General of Police (IGP) C. D. Wickramaratne.
He stated that the mobile phone used by the former IGP has also been taken into police custody for investigation.
Statements have already been recorded from about ten people, including his family members, regarding the death.
The Minister of Public Security also stated that the Government Analyst’s reports have been requested.
Former IGP C. D. Wickramaratne died of a gunshot wound at his residence in Thalahena yesterday morning.
