COLOMBO : President of Canadian-Sri Lankan Muslim Women’s Alliance, CSMWA, Fairoza Cassim was feted in Colombo for Saturday,June 10, in appreciation of her poverty relief services undertaken in Srio Lanka.
Former Deputy Mayor Kalmunai, Rahmath Munsoor,Founder – Rahmath Foundation Kalmunai presented a memento to Feroza Cassim for her social services carried out in the Easter Province at a simple ceremony held at the Galadari Hotel in Colombo on Saturday.
Munsoor, who is also the National Coordinating Secretary of Sri Lanka Muslim Congress,SLMC, told Colombo Times that the CSMWA has carried out several humanitarian projects in the Eastern Province for the benefit of the people. He said construction of tube wells, community wells and helping deserving people are some of its services. “ I am delighted to felicitate CSMWA, President for her outstanding community development work,” Munsoor added.
Madam Cassim said that she streamlines her activities in Sri Lanka through the Young Women’s Association,YWMA, headed by Fawaza Thaha..She said that the association has eased her tasks by supervising the projects in Sri Lanka and completing them according to her expectations.
Fawaza Thaha said that her organization is privileged to get this opportunity to serve the Sri Lankan community in a big way through the CSMWA,
Cassim also presented plaques to senior YWMA members in recognition of their service to the CSMWA, projects in the island. Former President of the All-Ceylon YMMA Conference Khalid Farouk and Colombo Times Chief Editor Mohammed Rasooldeenb were also present at the get-together.
