Persian Literature Day : “From Ferodowsi’s epic to Khayyam’s Wisdom “

COLOMBO : A meaningful Cultural program was organized by the Iranology Society in Sri Lanka and Cultural Center of the Iranian Embassy , to commemorate two world-renowned Iranian poets, Omar Khayyam and Ferdowsi, on the occasion of Khayyam Ferdowsi Day on Friday May 15.

The event was attended by prominent Sri Lankan film producers, university professors, historians, and enthusiasts of Persian literature.

The opening address was delivered by Dr. Ali Kebriaei Sadeh, Director of the Cultural Center of the Iranian Embassy. During his speech, he elaborated on the distinct talents and intellectual contributions of both Khayyam and Ferdowsi, while also presenting a scholarly discussion on the profound literary dimensions embedded in their poetry.

The audience was further entertained by renowned Iranian musician Ali Reza Shahini, who captivated the gathering with performances of traditional Persian music
