
COLOMBO : On the 16th of July 2025, members of the Past Pupils’ Association of Muslim Ladies’ College, Colombo 04, , officially hand over two infusion pumps and one multi-para monitor to the Apeksha Cancer Hospital, Maharagama .
These vital pieces of medical equipment were purchased through funds raised from the Association’s “Kidu Project” and from the generous contributions of well-wishers.
This impactful initiative was spearheaded by Mrs. Razia Uvaim and Mrs. Zamani Nazeem, bears testimony to the collective compassion and dedication of the Association’s members and supporters.
In addition to the donation of medical equipment, the team also distributed turbans for chemotherapy patients and biscuits among both adult and pediatric patients, spreading comfort and joy throughout the hospital.
The official handover was made to Dr. Roshan Amarathunga (Medical Officer, on behalf of Dr. Aruna Jayasekara, Director of Apeksha Hospital) and Special Grade Nursing Officer Mrs. Gunasinghe. By Mrs. Nasriya Munas, President and Principal of Muslim Ladies’ College, and Vice President Mrs. Ferouza Muzammil.
Following the hospital visit, the team also visited the Indira Cancer Trust, where they handed over a cash donation to support the purchase of essential medication and biscuits for patients.
