NEGOMBO : A morning event took place at Jetwing Blue Hotel, Negombo on 30 Sept to mark the Palestine flag day followed by a kite festival which was facilitated by Ask Lanka Kite club at the beach of the Hotel
The event was jointly organized by the Sri Lanka committee for Solidarity with Palestine, Pamunugama YMCA and Born to Win Relationships of Ja Ela.
Friends of Palestine participated at the event from Galle, Mawanella, Colombo , Negombo , Ja Ela and eastern province of Sri Lanka as well.
Colombo based Ambassadors , High commissioners, Diplomats and Clergies were also present at the event High Commissioners of Malaysia,the Maldives, Bangladesh and Ambassadors of Saudi Arabia, Oman , Turkey , Cuba Vietnam were present.
Diplomats form Egyptian Embassy were also present
Solidarity statements were made by :Malaysian, Indonesian,Vietnam,Bangladesh High Commissioners
Another statement was made by YMCA as well
A Palestine Flag Cake was cut by the guests, Iqbal of Sri Lanka Guitar Association along with Abdullah Omar performed a guitar and instruments and songs in solidarity with Palestine.
