
COLOMBO : In a significant gesture of bilateral friendship and social commitment, the High Commission of Pakistan in Colombo distributed essential food rations, sewing machines, and school bags to the Young Women’s Muslim Association (YWMA) on Monday,Jan.26 at the High Commission Premises.
PThe event highlighted a comprehensive approach to community support by addressing immediate nutritional needs, fostering women’s financial independence through vocational tools, and equipping the next generation with necessary educational supplies. dedication to standing by the people of Sri Lanka through sustainable empowerment initiatives, while representatives from the YWMA expressed deep gratitude for the mission’s consistent role in uplifting vulnerable households and supporting the association’s grassroots welfare projects.
The donations were handed over by Major General Faheem Ul Azeez, High Commissioner of Pakistan, to the President of YWMA SL, Mrs. Fawaza Thaha.
Commending the Association’s continued service to the community, the High Commissioner assured the Pakistan High Commission’s ongoing support for YWMA SL’s future initiatives.
The event was attended by YWMA SL Secretary Ms. Suraiya Rizwi and Treasurer Ms. Kaneez Malik, along with Deputy High Commissioner Zunaira Latiff and officials of the Pakistan High Commission.
YWMA SL presented a memento to the envoy in appreciation of the Pakistan Embassy’s contribution and service to Sri Lanka.
