Officials review final arrangements in Mina tent city for Sri Lankan Hajj pilgrims

JEDDAH Sri Lankan officials reviewed the final arrangements in Mina camp for Sri Lankan pilgrims In preparation for the Hajj rituals commencing on June 4,

A high-level delegation from Sri Lanka conducted a final inspection of the Mina camp allocated for Sri Lankan pilgrims on Saturday, May 31, 2025.The inspection was led by Reyaz Mihular, Chairman of the Hajj and Umrah Committee, accompanied by members of the Hajj and Umrah Committee, representatives from the Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs, and the Sri Lankan Consulate in Jeddah.

The visit was to ensure all logistical and welfare arrangements are in place for the comfort and safety of the pilgrims.As part of the final preparations, the delegation also held discussions with Osama A Danish, Managing Director of Al Baith—the service provider responsible for supporting Sri Lankan pilgrims. The meeting, held at the Al Baith headquarters in Makkah, focused on finalizing operational details and service delivery plans during the Hajj period.

Key members of the Sri Lankan delegation included the members of the Hajj and Umrah Committee Y. L. M. Navavi, Prof. M. S. M. Aslam, Mr. T. K. Azoor, Wakfs Board Member Mr. D. M. Dole , Acting Consul General Mafusa Lafir, and Director M. S. M. Nawas, along with several officials from the Consulate in Jeddah and the Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs.This comprehensive review marks the final phase of Sri Lanka’s preparations for Hajj 2025, ensuring that the nearly 3,500 Sri Lankan pilgrims expected to participate in this year’s pilgrimage will be well-supported during the pilgrimage.
