COLOMBO : The Sri Lanka Quazi Judges Forum (SLQJF) wishes to inform eligible candidates that theJudicial Service Commission has called for applications for the appointment of Quazi Judgesunder the provisions of the Muslim Marriage and Divorce Act for the year 2026.Eligibility CriteriaApplicants must satisfy the following requirements:
- Must be a Muslim male
- Should possess one of the following qualifications:
o A degree from a recognized university
o A Moulavi certificate from an institution recognized by the Ministry of Muslim
Religious and Cultural Affairs
o Al-Alim certificate issued by the Department of Education
o Attorney-at-Law qualification
o Any other equivalent qualification
o A retired public servant who has held a staff-grade position - Must not be currently holding a permanent post in the public service
- Must:
o Have a sound knowledge of Islam
o Have a good understanding of Muslim Law, particularly the Muslim Marriage
and Divorce Act
o Be married and over 40 years of age
o Be physically fit, of good character, and well respected in the community
Additional Requirements - The selected applicant must reside permanently within the appointed Quazi area
- Appointments will be made for a specified term, as indicated in the letter of
appointment
Allowances - Monthly Allowance: Rs. 7,500/-
- Additional Allowance (support services, stationery, postal): Rs. 6,250/-
Application Procedure - Applications must be prepared according to the prescribed format
