On an initiative made by the Saudi ambassador in Colombo , Khalid Humoud AlKhahtani. a group of nine journalists including a woman from Sri Lanka arrived in Riyadh on a media tour from 15 January.
The selected journalists were from the print and electronic media and freelancers .
The media team visited the headquarters of the Saudi Research and Publications Company, SRPC and met its COO Saleh Al Dowais, the Saudi Broadcasting Authority and the media ministry.
On Friday, they plan to visit the ancient city of Dirayah and also Boulvard. Subsequently , they are expected to spend three days in Al Ula which is the tourist attraction of the Kingdom !
As sheikh Abdul Rahman from the Short News who had reviewed the whole programme of the visit to the Saudi Broadcasting Authority said : “
We are happy to be in Kingdom of The custodian of. the. two holy Mosques King Salman and. Crown Prince Mohamed Bin Salman! We bring greetings and good wishes to the. members of the royal family , our journalist colleagues and people of. the Kingdom from our Sri Lankan president Anura kumar’s disanayake and his. people ! “
Mohammed Shiham from the Rupavahini Corporation said “ We are anxious to see for. ourselves the splendid. progress made throughout the Kingdom under the Vision 30. we are also thankful for the opportunity given to us to get to know the progressive developments in the Kingdom and we would. like to share these experiences with our friends. back at home .”
Husna Hussain from Thr Thinakural said “ I am amazed at the rapid developments made by the Kingdom under the Vision 2030.”
Ambassador AlKhahtani told who is currently in Riyadh told Colombo Times that this visit is not only a media tour but also the mediamen will establish people to people contacts with one another one another .”
