Stepping into 2026 with Hope, Unity, and Cultural Pride.
COLOMBO :As we bid farewell to another year and welcome the dawn of 2026, I extend my warmest greetings to all Sri Lankans living here and abroad. The arrival of a New Year is a symbolic moment of renewal; it is a valuable opportunity for us to reflect on our collective achievements and resolve to build a brighter future for our nation.
As the Deputy Minister of Religious and Cultural Affairs, I believe that our country’s strength lies within our diversity. Our nation is a beautiful spectrum of different religions, languages, and traditions that have co-existed in harmony for centuries. In 2026, let us pledge to further strengthen these bonds of brotherhood and mutual respect. Lasting peace and prosperity can only be truly achieved through cultural understanding and religious harmony.
While the past year tested our resilience, we have demonstrated as a nation that we can overcome any challenge when we stand together. In the coming year, our Ministry remains committed to preserving our cultural heritage and creating an environment where every citizen can practice their faith with dignity and freedom. We will continue to work tirelessly to empower religious institutions and cultural activists to become beacons of values and ethics within our society.
I wish for this New Year to be a transformative one. Let us make it a year where we prioritize compassion over conflict and progress over stagnation. Let us join hands to uplift the oppressed in our society and create a balanced Sri Lanka that is rich in cultural identity and filled with equality.
I wish you and your families a year filled with good health, happiness, and prosperity.
