COLOMBO : A new coalition named ‘New Alliance’, founded by MP Nimal Lanza, held its inaugural public rally in Ja-Ela on Saturday (Jan.27).
Addressing the event, the parliamentarian vowed to form a new alliance by amalgamating the political parties with the highest number of members representing the parliament.
‘New Alliance’ will back incumbent Ranil Wickremesinghe in the upcoming Presidential Election.
MP Anura Priyadarshana Yapa serves as the operational leader of the coalition.
The inaugural rally was joined by Ministers Nalin Fernando and Susil Premajayantha and MP Priyankara Jayaratne.
