COLOMBO — M S M Nawaz assumed duties as the New Director of the Department of Muslim Religious Affairs on Tuesday August 6.
Nawaz was appointed as the New Director by the Ministry of Buddha Sasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs , He belongs to Grade 1 of the Sri Lankan Administrative Service
He had worked as an officer in the Inland Revenue Department and then as an Additional Assistant Secretary at the Ministry of Industries and now he has taken up his duties at the Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs .
Speaking to Colombo Times Nawaz said that it would take some time to study the new area of work, however, he added he would do his best to serve the Muslim community in keeping with its aspirations .
