Negombo court remands a Palestinian who fails to pay his posted bail

NEGOMBO : A Palestinian refugee who was arrested and produced in court on charges of assaulting a tricycle driver was remanded in custody after failing to pay the posted bail.

 A 25-year-old Palestinian, Udai Mohamed, who is in a refugee camp located in Gutappat, Negombo, was remanded on Thursday

In this regard, the police investigation revealed that the suspect was staying in Agathimuga during the day

  It has been reported that he used to come out at night and drink and creates chaos in the area under the influence of liquor . The Palestinian was arrested for assaulting the tricycle driver.

When the was produced before the Negombo Magistrate Champika Rajapaksa, the accused  was allowed to go on bail of Rs200,000. The suspect was remanded in custody for failing to pay bail.
