COLOMBO : Since the beginning of the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories, Israel has intensified draconic and inhumane measures against Palestinian by denying the legitimate rights of all women and children to live in peace in their homeland.
During more than seven decades of occupation of the Palestinian territories, the Zionist regime has been repeatedly committing violations and crimes against the real owners of this land. The anti-human actions of the Zionist apartheid regime are in complete contradiction with human rights and the indisputable principles of international law. The construction and expansion of Zionist settlements, the killing and displacing of the oppressed Palestinian people, mass detention of more than 800.000 Palestinians, including women and children, the desecration and sacrilege of the Al-Aqsa Mosque as a sacred site for all faiths, the siege of the Gaza Strip, the annexation of the Golan lands, and the killing of more than 2,000 children in the past 22 years are only a part of these crimes.
In recent days, the new waves of encroachment of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the shocking crimes of this regime against the fasting people were even faced with anti-Israeli protests and condemnations by its regular supporters; the published images of these criminal actions will touch every one’s heart and crush the spirit of all freedom seekers.
In addition, the Zionist regime has declared several extreme measures as revenge aggression against prisoners, which include legalizing the law to implement executions only against Palestinian prisoners and also revoking the citizenship of Palestinians. Despite the untold hardship, prisoners are being further subjected to extreme harassment and torture as a policy of suppression for their fundamental rights, which include food, medical treatment and other basic rights, which is violation of the human rights of the fourth Geneva convention.
The Zionist regime judicial system is complicit in Israel’s objective to oppress and persecute the Palestinian people, which the Israel military courts implement with all forms of discrimination, segregation, political and racial persecution of Palestinians, which includes legitimation of torture.
It is totally unacceptable to ignore the rights of any persons without holding the Israeli Apartheid regime accountable to international and humanitarian law. This regime and its blind supporters should not feel that they are exempted from applying the law and they can violate as they desire.
The Zionist regime authorities should respond to the public opinion for their violent actions against innocent peoples of Palestine. In this context, the UN General Assembly and United Nations Human Rights Council are responsible to take into consideration the international Law and human rights under Geneva convention and bring the Israeli officials to justice.
Today, more than any time, the world should unite in solidarity with the Palestinians, regardless of religion and faith, to fight against this regime’s occupation.
