Ensure the security of the judiciary!” – Massive condemnation in Muthur against the Akuregoda double murder.
Lawyers at the Muttur Magistrate’s Court were engaged in a boycott protest on Sunday, Feb. (16) to condemn the brutal incident in which a lawyer and his wife were shot dead in the Akuregoda area.
Court proceedings were suspended: The work of the Muttur court was completely affected today as lawyers did not attend to their duties.
- Black armband protest: Lawyers who gathered in front of the court wearing black armbands registered their strong opposition.
- Justice demand slogan: It was emphasized that lawyers who protect the rule of law do not have security in the country and urged the immediate arrest of the culprits. “The assassination of our fellow lawyer is a threat to the entire judiciary!”
