COLOMBO : Muslim public servants to get Festival Allowance 14 days before end of the Ramadan in April this year.
Pradeep Yasarathna,Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government has instructed his ministries to take action to grant the Festival Advance to eligible Muslim Officers in the Public Service, Public Corporations and Statutory Boards 14 days before the expiry date of Ramadan .
In a circular dated Feb, 2, the secretary has said as the forthcoming Ramadan Season is due to commence on 12 March 2024 and Muslims have to take part in prayers and religious activities, the secretary has requested to enable Muslim Officers to perform their rituals.
