COLOMBO- As the residents of Wellampitya areas are returning home when the floods are receding now , social services organizations distributed them 1,100 parcels of dry rations each costing Rs 3,500/ on Saturday.
The programme was organized by the President of Central YMMA,N.Kamil in coordination with organizations such as the Megoda Kollanawa Al-Rahma Mosque, Al-Madrasathul Buhariya Masjid in Wellarawatte and Hameed Al-Husseini College-Light to Life.
The parcels were distributed among members of all communities who were affected by the recent floods. One of the Buddhist resident, who came to collect the parcel said that Muslims are always in the forefront to do charity work in times of such distress.
