COLOMBO : Ex minister and murder convict Duminda Silva was arrested in the evening on Wednesday, June 1,a few hours following his admission to the hospital
The Supreme Court ordered the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to arrest him, sources said.
The reason for admission or the health condition of Silva was not yet known.
On Tuesday May 31, the Supreme Court ordered the CID to arrest Silva, nullifying a presidential pardon granted to him a year ago.
It was reported that a travel ban was also imposed on Silva while the Attorney General has been directed to assist the CID in his arrest.
He and two others were sentenced to death over the murder of former MP Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra in 2011.
