More than 150 affiliates of the All-Ceylon YMMA Conference to meet on June 29 at its 74th Annual Convention in Colombo

COLOMBO : The 74th Annual Convention of the All-Ceylon YMMA Conference will be held on 29th June 2024 at 2. 00 p.m. at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute, , Independence Square, Colombo.

It will be held under the chairmanship  of National President of the YMMA Conference Ihsaan Hameed.

Ambassador of Turkiye Semih Lutfu Turgut will be the chief guest, while the Sri Lanka Human Rights Commission Chairman Justice Lt. B. Dehideniya will be the guest -of -honour.

The All-Ceylon YMMA Conference, a National youth and youth serving community-based organization, providing leadership in building a strong socio-economic development institution to serve the community and the country. It has a network of more than 175 Member YMMA Branches throughout the country with more than 10,000 members. It is  an Incorporated Body established by an Act of Parliament No. 31 of 1968 as a Government approved non-profitable and non-political charitable organization founded on 30 April 1950 by late Dr. A.M.A. Azeez, educationist, first Muslim civil servant and former Senator.

The Convention will be attended by reputed dignitaries, leading personalities and members of the branches.

The YMMA Conference Media Unit Chairman Mohammed Rasooldeen  told  Colombo Times that the office-bearers will selected for the ensuing year at this meeting.

A set of awards to the outstanding YMMA branches and outstanding personalities of the year will be presented during the convention.

Amhar Sheriff,Vice President of the YMMA, and Editor of the newsletter “ Shuban ” will release a special issue of the newsletter to mark the occasion..
