Moors Islamic Cultural Home hosts the 72nd Annual Meelad un Nabi Celebrations and Prize Giving Ceremony

COLOMBO — The Moors Islamic Cultural Home hosted the 72nd Annual Meelad un Nabi Celebration and Prize Giving Ceremony at the A.A.M. Marleen Hall, Her Highness Shekha Fathima Building, Lily Avenue, Wellawatte, Colombo on Saturday November 15.   
The prizes were distributed to 72 winners who took part in the Hifl, Oratory, Multimedia Presentation and Calligraphy Contest 2025. Also winners of  speech contest Negombo Sailan International School student R.P.W. Mihirangi in Sinhala, Puttalam Fathima Balika Maha Vidyalaya studet M. Afshin Ayra in English and Panadura ILma Muslim Vidyalaya student  M.A.A. Ali  spoke about the respect of Holy Prophet Muhmmad (peace be upon him). 
Guest Speaker of the ceremony Colombo Grand Mosque Hilaal Committee Deputy Chairman Moulavi M.M. Ahamedshah Jamali Fayazi also addressed the gathering. 
Moors Islamic Cultural Home President Omar Kamil and Mrs. Zuraika Kamil distributed certificates and gift vouchers to the students who took part in the various contests such as Hifl, Oratory, Calligraphy and Multimedia Presentation.    
Joint Secretaries Haniffa Ishak, Rimaz Saleem, Joint Treasurer Fareen Ghouse, MICH Women’s Bureau President and members including principals, teachers, students and judges  were graced the event. 
MICH Da’wa and Religious Committee Chairman S. Muhammed Shazuli proposed the vote of thanks.
