Miracle Dome Celebrates Easter Sunday in style : A Spiritual Revival for Thousands

SHRINI K. SENAVIRATHNA
COLOMBO – On Sunday ,April 21, Christians around the world gathered in churches, homes, and communities to joyfully celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ—a cornerstone of the Christian faith. In Sri Lanka, this sacred occasion was marked with heartfelt devotion and grandeur, especially at the Miracle Dome, one of the nation’s most prominent Christian churches.
The Miracle Dome, known for its vibrant worship services and powerful spiritual atmosphere, witnessed a large influx of both local and international believers this Easter Sunday.
The celebration was the culmination of a weeklong series of services, teachings, and prayer sessions, all aimed at reflecting on the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.
This year’s Easter theme, “Come and See,” echoed the very invitation given by the angel at Jesus’ empty tomb—a call to witness the miracle of new life. It symbolized the heart of the Miracle Dome’s message: that lives lost in suffering and hopelessness can be transformed and renewed in the presence of God.
The Easter Sunday service was led by Prophet Jerome Fernando, who delivered a powerful sermon rooted in biblical teachings. He emphasized the spiritual growth of a Christian and noted that as one’s spirit is renewed, so too should one’s outward life reflect that transformation—including a symbolic change in clothing that represents inner purity and rebirth.
The atmosphere at the Dome was electric as beautiful worship songs filled the air, lifting hearts and drawing all present into a deep sense of connection with God. Many who came seeking spiritual renewal, healing, and peace found what they were looking for.
According to church leaders, several testimonies of miraculous healing were shared during the service, further inspiring faith among attendees.
In a striking show of unity and openness, even non-Christians were seen attending the celebration—an indication of the Dome’s growing reputation as a sanctuary for all people, regardless of faith background.
Beyond the spiritual experience, the Miracle Dome continues to serve communities across the island through various social welfare programs, reinforcing its role not just as a church, but as a beacon of hope and support for the nation.
As archaeological findings continue to affirm the events surrounding Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection, the faith of Christians worldwide—including in Sri Lanka—grows stronger. This Easter, the Miracle Dome stood as a shining example of that faith in action: a place where lives are changed, hope is restored, and the message of Jesus is boldly proclaimed.
With hearts full of gratitude and a renewed spirit, thousands left the Miracle Dome on Easter Sunday believing that indeed, in Christ, every ending holds the promise of a new beginning.
