Message from ambassador of Viet Nam Trinh Thi Tam for the Lunar New Year

COLOMBO : ” On the joyful occasion of the Lunar New Year “Binh Ngo” (Year of Horrse) 2026 , I would like to extend my warmest greetings and best wishes to the Government and people of Sri Lanka, as well as to the Vietnamese community living, studying and working here.

Tet is the most sacred and cherished festival in Viet Nam. It is a time for family reunion, gratitude to our ancestors, renewal of hope, and aspirations for peace, prosperity and happiness. The Year of the Horse symbolizes energy, resilience, and the spirit of moving forward — values that resonate strongly with both the Vietnamese and Sri Lankan peoples.

Over the years, the friendship and cooperation between Viet Nam and Sri Lanka have continued to grow based on mutual respect, trust, and shared interests. We are pleased to see expanding collaboration in trade, investment, agriculture, education, culture, and people-to-people exchanges. I am confident that in the year ahead, our two countries will further strengthen these ties, contributing to development and prosperity in both nations and to peace and stability in our region.

To the Vietnamese community in Sri Lanka, Tet is also a reminder of our roots and identity. I sincerely appreciate your solidarity, hard work, and contributions to promoting the image of Viet Nam abroad, as well as to fostering friendship between our two countries.

May the New Year bring good health, happiness, and success to all.

Happy Lunar New Year!.”
