COLOMBO : Muslim residents of the Kollupitiya Jumma Mosque staged a protest inside the Mosque premises after Jumma Sermon on Friday January 19 requesting the government to cancel the appointment of special trustees to the mosque and urged the department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs to elect the trustees at a general meeting of the mosque
The protesters demanded a general meeting of the congregation and allow them to elect such officials at such a meeting.
