The 30th Annual General Meeting of the Sri Lanka Muslim Media Forum , SLMMF, will be held under the patronage of the Health and Media Minister Dr Nalinda Jayatissa in the presence of Saudi Ambassador Khalid Humoud Alkahtani as the guest-of -honour .ar 10 am at Postal Auditorium on Saturday, September 27
This year, the present president N M Amin who was holding office for 27 years will be stepping down due to personal and. health reasons.
This year , there will be stiff competitions for all the posts in the SL Muslim Media Forum with 30 of its members contesting for 15 posts of committee members .
Speaking to the Ceylon Daily News , the. incumbent president N M Amin said that he is stepping down to pave the way for the youths to take over the organization gradually.
The Forum was founded by the late S B C Halaldeen who was the commissioner of labour at the time .
The post of president is. contested by Irshad A Cadet , Rifthi Ali, M Fairooz and Mohamed Rifath, while Sameeha Zafeer , incumbent secretary Sadiq Shihan and Fahim Shams are vying for the post of general secretary of the Forum.
The post of Treasurer remains uncontested with a nomination from Kiyas A Buhary
