COLOMBO : The High Commission of Malaysia in Colombo organized the“Peluncuran Expedisi Motosikal Madani dan Pertandingan Kesenian Melayu 2026 as an initiative to promote the Malay language and strengthen cultural engagement among the local community in Sri Lanka.
The event on Thursday , May 7 at the One Galle Face, was held under the patronage of the Malaysian high commissioner Badli Hisham Adam
This programme was meant to encourage cultural participation and showcase Malay arts and heritage through an online competition format.
The Sri Lanka Malay Association, SLMA represented at the launch of the recipe book “Juadah Kita: Cross-Cultural Flavours”, hosted by High Commissioner Badli Hisham Adam .
Representing SLMA were Cultural & Literary Affairs Chairperson Sdri. Zeenia Cambal, Women’s Affairs Chairperson Sdri. Hasmareen Bangsajayah, Secretary Sdri. Ferozeya Jumat, Vice President Sdr. Hussain Jayah, and President Sdri. Sabrina Jayah.
Sdri. Ferozeya Jumat’s recipe for “Chuka Dageng” was featured in this beautiful collection celebrating cross-cultural flavours. It was a proud moment for SLMA and for Malay culinary heritage.
