Making private discussion a public affair is breach of trust- says Jammiyathul Ulama

COLOMBO : The All-Ceylon Jammiyathul Ulama(ACJU) said here on Wednesday, Sept 15 that it is immoral and and breach of trust to share a private discussion among non-participants.

The ACJU conducted an audio recording of a meeting via Zoom, which was telecasted on a Private TV Channel on 2021.09.13

The ACJU in a statement issued on Wednesday said : “ The concerned meeting mentioned above was conducted online via Zoom, with the Muslim Civil Organizations on 2021.07.07, to discuss matters related to the contemporary challenges faced by the Muslim community. 24 Muslim Civil Organizations were invited to this discussion and more than 50 members participated in this meeting.

It is our democratic right to discuss the challenges faced by us while upholding democratic values as the citizens of this country. However, the recording of this online meeting has been shared to outsiders, which is an immoral act and a breach of trust. We handover this matter to Almighty Allah.

Let us seek solutions for our challenges appropriately, with unity and goodwill, while abiding by the Islamic guidelines pertaining to sharing information.”
