COLOMBO : Parliamentarian and former speaker Chamal Rajapaksa openly hit at his own brother ex-prime minister Mahinda Rajapaksa for being power hungry which ruined his five-decade old poltical career.
Speaking in the parliament, Chamal Rajapaksa who was also a minister in the last cabinet on Thursday.May 19, said ““If we become greedy for power and political posts then we have no choice but to face such consequences as we see today.”
Former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa should have retired after concluding his second term as President of Sri Lanka,” Chamal Rajapaksa told Parliament today.
MP Chamal Rajapaksa said the failure to do so has resulted in Mahinda Rajapaksa facing the condeqiences of his blunder.
Chamal Rajapaksa said along with entering and engaging in politics, people must also learn to let go at the right time.
