GAMPOLA : On the 23rd of January 2022, Gampola witnessed a first-hand nightlife experience by courtesy of Mahajana Hypermart.
Gampola is a commercial hub that connects to a wider central region in the district. The city is known for its hill landscapes and relics of ancient history of kings who ruled the country.
Mahajana Hypermart, the country’s first wholesale supermarket was unveiled and declared open to the public by the Management of Mahajana Group of companies
Mahajana Hypermart is a combined project sitting at 40,000 Sq Feet of shopping area with many pioneer businesses in the region joining hands with Mahajana Group. The unique concept allows shoppers to walk into different stalls for all their specific shopping needs.
With street carts such as “Karak Chai”, “Mr Sub Burgers” and “Dosa Pizza” on site, the change into a night crowd is evident in Gampola.
“This is a fantastic new store designed especially to optimize customers’ shopping missions for ‘food now’ and ‘food for later along with time saving bulk purchases” commented a local small business owner.
The opening day which was on the 23rd saw a massive crowd that came in to enjoy the night sensations that has been missing in Gampola for years.
Mahajana Group believes, this is the beginning of a shopping evolvement, this is the beginning of a realm which provokes late night shopping in the city. And it hopes to stay up late as long as midnight to create the night shopping sensation.
