COLOMBO : A group of 59 dealers and their families left for Makkah on Sunday Sept,10 under the sponsorship of their company, Macksons Holdings headed by Milfer Mackeen, chairman and its Managing Director Mizver Mackeen.
The send off of the pilgrims was held on Sunday morning at the Mandarina Hotel in Colombo, which is a part of the Macksons Holdings. Senior Vice President of the Macksons Holdings Nilrukshi De Silva and its Director and CEO Shimmer Milfer were present to bid safe journey to the pilgrims. Milfer presented the air tickets to pilgrims on this occasion.
Speaking to Colombo Times De Silva said that the sponsorship is a token of appreciation of the management for the hard work of the dealers who contribute to the forward march of the Mackson Group. She said the total travel package is arranged by the Traveler Global which is a premier travel agent in the island.
Chairman and Managing Director of the Traveler Global Rizmy Reyal told Colombo Times that a total of 61 pilgrims will be going on this pilgrimage with the two religious leaders who will guide the pilgrims throughout the journey. They include Ash Sheik Jabir Salih and Ash Sheik Zainul Mishkath from Traveler Global Umra Group.The package will cover both Makkah and Madinah for Umrah and the visit to the Prophet’s mosque in Madinah ,he added.
Reyal said that the travel trade is thankful to SriLankan Airlines which has resumed operations directly to Jeddah to ease the travel hassles.He said that the ground handling by the airline staff both at Colombo and Jeddah airports was excellent and the pilgrims had a good word for the national carrier.
He said that the pilgrims have already reached Makkah and they will be returning home after seven days.
