COLOMBO : M R M Ziyard was unanimously elected National President of the All Ceylon YMMA Conference at its 76th Annual General Meeting held at its Headquarters in Colombo on Saturday 27th June .
Ziyard succeeds Amhar Shariff who had been the president for .
the. past two years
Ziyard was formally inducted by the outgoing president. Shariff in the presence of Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath who was the chief guest at the 76th Annula Convenntipn of the YMMA held at the Lotus Tower on Sunday , June 28.
Ziyard who represents. the Wattegedera YMMA from 1999,was one of the founders of the branch organization. In 2003,he was adjudged the best branch secretary by the. parent body. in 2004 He joined the All Ceylon YMMA Conference as its Assistant. General Treasurer and later he became its Vice President in 2022.
Ziyard told. Colombo Times that while. continuing the good work carried out by his predecessors, he plans to introduce changes with the changing times. “ while serving the community, our goal of s to develop the nation by harnessing the potentials of all communities .
