COLOMBO : The Secretary to the President, Dr Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, invited the staff of the Presidential Secretariat to commit themselves, with renewed energy and fresh ideas, to advancing the President’s people-centred programme.
The Secretary to the President made these remarks while attending the Sinhala and Tamil New Year celebration with the staff of the Presidential Secretariat this morning (16) at the Presidential Secretariat.
On the occasion, the Secretary to the President extended New Year greetings to the staff and engaged in a cordial interaction with them.
Subsequently, addressing the staff, the Secretary to the President, Dr Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, further emphasised that the dawn of the New Year presents a valuable opportunity to move forward with renewed lives and fresh perspectives, while overcoming the shortcomings and missed opportunities of the past year.
He also highlighted the importance of building upon the work carried out by the Presidential Secretariat as the country’s principal state institution and of moving forward with renewed vigour, drawing strength from the spirit of unity reflected in the Sinhala and Tamil New Year. The Secretary to the President also expressed his appreciation to all members of the staff for their contributions thus far.
Chief of Staff to the President Prabhat Chandrakeerthi, Senior Additional Secretaries to the President, Mr Kapila Janaka Bandara and Mr Roshan Gamage, along with other officials of the Presidential Secretariat, were also present at the occasion.
