Lankans celebrate Eid Festival in Sydney

COLOMBO — Sri Lankan Muslims in Australia celebrated the Eid Festival at the LMA Function Center in Sydney recently.  Almost 100 families gathered at this event. Lujain Malik delivered the welcome address.

During the dinner, Secretary of Zahira College Colombo Old Boys Association in Australia Rizan Rizvi, made an appeal of fund raising for the refugees in Palestine, and was able to collect a sum of $5000.

The Quiz program was organized by Ayoob and Hifney Idrees. The winners received an accommodation in a 5 Star hotel in Sydney. The accommodation was sponsored by Nilam Mohamed.  Further presentation of gifts items for around 40 children below the age of 10 were also organized at this Eid festival. The gifts presentation was sponsored by Mohamed Razick.

Aamina Mustapha presented her latest poetry book to Nilam Mohamed, Food and Beverage Manager of Boulevard Hotel in Sydney. Amir Faizal along with Dr. Ajward at this festival.

Mohamed Musthafa Former Coordinating Secretary to the Ex Minister M. H. A. Haleem, were also graced the event.

Nufail Ali a patron of the Old Boys Association of Zahira College in Australia delivered the vote of thanks.
