COLOMBO — The Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs observed the “ Holy Mihraj Night “ programme at Al Masjidun Najimi Jumma Mosque, Colombo on Saturday February 18.
It was held under the patronage of Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs Director Z.A.M. Faizal.
Chief Imam of the Mosque Moulavi M. S. M. Noorulla delivered his speech on significance of Mihraj Night. Ihsaniyya Arabic College Principal Moulavi M.F.M. Farood conducted special prayers (dua) in Sinhala and Tamil languages. The Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation Muslim Service live broadcast the programme live.
Chairman of the Hajj Committee and Former Director of the Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs Ibrahim Ansar, Inter Religious Alliance for the National Unity Co – Chairman Al Hafil Ash Seyed Dr. Hassan Moulana , Keselwatte Police Officer in Charge Sujith Priyantha, Libyan Embassy Musthafa Ibrahim, Colombo District Masjid Federation President Shiraz Noordeen, All Ceylon Jamiyathul Ulama Assistant Secretary Moulavi M.S.M Thassim, Al Masjidun Najimi Jumma Mosque President H.M. Amjadeen, Joint Secretaries A.M. Kareem and Irshad Hussain, Treasurer M.N.M. Najibdeen and members of the Mosque Committee were also present at the event.
