Lankan minister woos investors in Saudi Arabia

RIYADH – Sri Lankans Minister of Foreign Affairs and Tourism had a productive meeting in Riyadh with the CEO of GTN global company and his team. The minister apprised them of enormous investment opportunities available in Sri Lanka and invited to invest in the fields of AI technology, aquaculture and wellness tourism in Sri Lanka.

The minister met with the top management of Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Services Group, one of the leading healthcare providers in the region .He also undertook a brief tour of their state-of-the-art medical facility, which is equipped with advanced technology and AI-driven systems.

” It was gratifying to note the significant contribution of Sri Lankans to the development of technology utilized by the Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Group through their development center in Colombo,” the minister said

The country’s ambassador in Saudi Arabia, Ameer Ajwad accompanied the minister during these meetings.

Vijitha Herath, is currently on an official visit to Riyadh, from November 8 to 11 , to attend the 26th Session of the General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

During the visit, Minister Herath will participate in high-level sessions of the UNWTO and hold bilateral meetings with counterparts from several member states. Sri Lanka is a founding member of the UNWTO, established in 1975.

The visit of Minister Herath is aimed at advancing Sri Lanka’s tourism agenda through potential collaborations with the UNWTO and its member States.
