BEIRUT : As part of the Embassy’s outreach programme, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Lebanon Shani Calyaneratne Karunaratne met Head of Mission Julien Raickman in the Medecins Sans Frontiere, an INGO operating in Lebanon, providing Medical, Social, and Advocacy services last week.
During the meeting they discussed many important medical issues for Sri Lankan migrant workers. Among them are COVID -19 Vaccination, obtaining counselling for migrant workers, translation of doctor patient discussions and ensuring patient confidentiality and repatriation of Sri Lankan migrant workers.
On behalf of the Medecins Sans Frontieres, Field Coordinator for migrant Workers Project Maya Trad also actively participated. Second Secretary/Labour T. Luxmidharan of the embassy was also present during the discussions.
